In order to improve city’s visual quality and, at the same time, introduce as many national luminaries of our country as possible, three editions of the Sculpture Symposium of Iranian Luminaries have been
organized by the Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization and the National Sculpture Symposium of Iranian Luminaires.
Sculptures have been made for a number of contemporary artists, poets and science luminaries and have been put up in the city, especially on cultural sites. Prof. Parviz Davami, an emeritus professor of
the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, is now among those national figures who is immortalized in statue form. Other sculptures are belong to Dr. Ehsan
Eshraghi (Professor of History), Dr. Ali Shariatmadari (Professor of Education and Curriculum Planning), Dr. Morteza Sohrabi (Professor of Chemical Engineering), Dr. Dariush Safvat (Professor of
Traditional Iranian Music), Dr. Abolghasem Gorji (Professor of Jurisprudence and Law), Dr.Baba Mokhayer (World’s best Veterinarian in 1997), Dr.Seyed Hossein Mirshamsi (the Iranian father of vaccine)
, Dr. Karim Javanshir (Professor of Agriculture and Natural Resources), Dr. Reza Naghshineh (Professor of Veterinary Pathology), Dr. Taghi Ebtekar (Professor of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Seyed
