With deep sorrow and regret, we announce the passing of Dr. Masoud Askari, a distinguished professor of the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Sharif University of Technology.
Dr. Masoud Askari, after graduating from the University of Manchester, joined the faculty of the School of Engineering and Materials Science in the early 1990s (1370s) and retired in 2021 (1400). Throughout his impactful life, in addition to his academic and administrative roles at the university, he served the country in various capacities, including as the former Vice President of Education at Jihad Daneshgahi, the founder and former president of Sharif University International Campus in Kish, and as Deputy Director of the Free Zone Organization.
A memorial ceremony for the late Dr. Masoud Askari was held on the evening of Monday, October 22, 1403, in the Jaber Bin Hayyan Hall of the Chemistry Faculty. The event, attended by Dr. Mousavi, President of the University, Dr. Askari’s family, and a group of his colleagues, faculty members, and students, included speeches from friends and family highlighting his character, moral values, and scientific contributions. A video featuring messages from his friends was also presented.
The School of Engineering and Materials Science extends its deepest condolences to his family and the academic community and prays for divine mercy and forgiveness for him, as well as patience and health for his loved ones.
