The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science of Sharif University of Technology admits students to the specialized doctoral program through a national exam. Admission to the doctoral program of the Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science is without orientation. The current doctoral program consists of 39 courses, which include 8 compulsory courses, 7 optional courses, 24 doctoral dissertations and 3 compensatory courses (in the entrance program before 2012, the number of optional units is 10). In addition, each PhD student must enroll in and successfully complete the Zero Assistant (TA) course at least three times. After entering the faculty, students have a maximum of one semester to choose their supervisor and submit their supervisor form to the graduate office of the faculty after the approval of the relevant professor. After determining the supervisor, the student is obliged to obtain his / her optional units under the supervision of the supervisor in accordance with the research field of his / her dissertation. Students are advised to carefully read the rules and regulations of education and research related to their degree after admission to the doctoral program so as not to have problems due to lack of knowledge of the rules while studying.
